American Trigger Sports Network (ATSN)
has been honored by the 35th Annual Telly Awards for outstanding production on their latest series, Stop the Threat, for episode "Fighting Back".

Houston, Texas --(June 18, 2014) The Winners of the 35th Annual Telly Awards have been announced and American Trigger Sports Network's (ATSN) Stop the Threat - "Fighting Back" was granted highest honors with a Silver People's Telly Award. The internet community and the growing number of fans for American Trigger Sports Network's gun-related sports, training, and self-defense programming are responsible for deciding this high honor.

ATSN's “Stop the Threat” series has been growing in popularity since it's premiere episode in 2012. With more citizens, legal gun owners and viewers becoming interested in protecting themselves and their families in the current political climate, Stop the Threat has opened the conversation for a previously neglected subject that could help save lives. This series hosts a round table of expert guest panelists, including self-defense, law and other professionals, moderated by host James B. Towle, as they analyze dramatic, life-threatening, crime scenes reenacted from real crime scenarios happening across the country.

Stop the Threat's "Fighting Back" episode focuses on a home invasion. Statistically, one in five homes will be broken into annually in the United States, with many of these home invasions resulting in other crimes such as homicide, assault, rape, kidnapping, or robbery. The episode depicts a family that is prepared to fight back in such an event. Former FBI Special Agent Don Clark, Firearms Instructor and Author Kathy Jackson, and Personal Safety and Crime Avoidance Expert Marc MacYoung comment, moderated by host James B. Towle. Suggestions include arming the home and having a detailed family plan that can be enacted quickly. Each Stop the Threat episode focuses on varying real-life scenarios that can happen to anyone and focuses on preparing the viewer in the event they are confronted with an unwanted like-encounter. Host James B. Towle advises, "Be safe ...be trained ...be alert!"

About ATSN

NOTE: ATSN was born from the already popular national Radio broadcast, "Trigger Sports Radio", hosted by James B. Towle. Towle wanted to bring the world of Trigger Sports to a whole new level by introducing video clips and LIVE coverage from shooting events, plus NRA updates from Headquarters, Hunting Reports and expert guests on Trigger Sports LIVE! an internet television weekly show. From there, Towle expanded by introducing Trigger Sports TV via DirecTV and Dish Network on the Pursuit Channel. Traveling across the USA, Towle and the ATSN film crew taped competitions and training events in all shooting discipline. Soon after, Towle realized that gun owners needed information on the responsibility of personal self-defense and gun handling beyond the shooting range, and Stop the Threat was born. Each week a panel of law enforcement experts discuss the re-enactment of true crime incidents that have occurred throughout the US and offer the audience sound information to better protect themselves and their loved ones. Towle often asks the viewers to consider "when to shoot or when to retreat". ATSN continues to be the leader in your trigger sports, and personal defense tactics and education.

Mission Statement

"To discuss the safe and responsible ownership of guns as a family sport and an American Tradition".
