It’s Official! ATSN: Stop the Threat is an Eight-Time Telly Award Winner

Houston, Texas – July 23, 2015
– The Telly Awards has named ATSN: Stop the Threat as a Silver People’s Telly Award winner in the 36th Annual Telly Awards for their piece entitled “Shoplifting Complex”. With nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is truly an honor.

“Shoplifting Complex” depicts a real crime scene reenacted for a panel of expert guests moderated for a discussion by host James B. Towle. Guests this episode include internationally recognized firearms, tactics, and use of force instructor, Wes Doss, PhD, Illinois senior patrolman and firearms instructor Rich Portwood, and veteran Sergeant Duncan Stewart, as they analyze what happens in this incident. In this crime scene, a shoplifter is seen taking items and running from a store. An undercover officer chases the shoplifter and tackles her, at which time she screams, “Rape!” Passersby read the scene much differently than it occurred. Each episode of ATSN’s Stop the Threat mentally prepares viewers for situations in case they are confronted with the unexpected.

Now an eight-time Telly Award winner, having won a Telly Award each season since inception, ATSN: Stop the Threat is proud to have been continually recognized with the premier award that honors outstanding local, regional, and cable TV programs and commercials, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. ATSN: Stop the Threat is among the best work of the most respected production companies, advertising agencies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.

For its 36th season, The Telly Awards once again joined forces with YouTube to give the public the power to view and rate videos submitted as part of the People’s Telly Awards. In addition to recognition from the Silver Telly Council, the judging panel that selects the Telly Awards winners, the Internet community helps decide the People’s Telly Awards winners.

“The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,” said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. ATSN: Stop the Threat’s accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production.”

"We are very grateful to the Telly Awards organization for selecting us for our 8th consecutive award. I would like to thank everyone in the crew for their hard work and dedication. Season after season we strive to produce a show that not only educates but mentally prepares gun owners for the most critical decision they will ever have to make, the Draw or Retreat decision. Our success is a result of due diligence and challenging preparation. We rely heavily on our guests to bring their experience to the table each week affording them a unique opportunity to reach outside law enforcement and deep into the gun community with their counsel. Lastly, I would like to thank our viewers who are very much a part of this award process and who without their help, without their emails, without their social media contact, we would not have achieved this year’s award. Thank you very much." – Executive Producer and Host, James B. Towle

About ATSN

NOTE: ATSN was born from the already popular national Radio broadcast, "Trigger Sports Radio", hosted by James B. Towle. Towle wanted to bring the world of Trigger Sports to a whole new level by introducing video clips and LIVE coverage from shooting events, plus NRA updates from Headquarters, Hunting Reports and expert guests on Trigger Sports LIVE! an internet television weekly show. From there, Towle expanded by introducing Trigger Sports TV via DirecTV and Dish Network on the Pursuit Channel. Traveling across the USA, Towle and the ATSN film crew taped competitions and training events in all shooting discipline. Soon after, Towle realized that gun owners needed information on the responsibility of personal self-defense and gun handling beyond the shooting range, and Stop the Threat was born. Each week a panel of law enforcement experts discuss the re-enactment of true crime incidents that have occurred throughout the US and offer the audience sound information to better protect themselves and their loved ones. Towle often asks the viewers to consider "when to shoot or when to retreat". ATSN continues to be the leader in your trigger sports, and personal defense tactics and education.

Mission Statement

"To discuss the safe and responsible ownership of guns as a family sport and an American Tradition".
